BTV Update 06.21.08

I wanted to take a moment and share this exciting photo of our first discipleship class at Kamukuywa. This was a new evangelism project we were involved in back in April. This group represents 13 people from those evangelized who gathered for their first class. They will have studied Theology and look forward to four 1-week long classes ahead. We are very proud of this group and look forward to what God will do through their service and obedience.

Randa, myself and a group of teachers will be leaving for Kenya on Sunday and want to ask for your prayers. We will be laying out new facilities for Noel Academy, organizing the water projects for the orphanage and obtaining final government approval for opening the doors of the orphanage. God willing, we will be accepting children very soon.

The week of the 30th, we will be church planting in another community near the above church. Please keep us in your prayers for our efforts, opportunities and God’s grace.

Noel Academy is growing in students, we are now up to 113 children and look forward to opening the 2nd and 3rd grade next year. This will put us at 200 children by January ’09, but we have a lot of work to do before that can happen. There are water issues to be resolved, a toilet building to be constructed, desks to be built, books and materials to be purchased and teachers to hire. And we desperately will be in need of a small school van (which we will also share with the orphan project).

Our new 10-acre crop just planted in early May

Our crops are growing, the opportunities for a great harvest are just around the corner, and we would love to share our success with you. Please consider how you can help if at all possible.

We again thank you so very much for your support and for partnering with the ministry of Build the Village.
