Friends and Supporters,
A quick update on Noel Academy…
With the start of a new school term at Noel Academy, I’m happy to introduce two other children from the community at Choimim who have received educational support. In the photo on the left is Brian, a 4-year-old boy who lost his father some time ago and who is one of five children. Brian, his siblings and his mother enjoy the time they spend in church and have a visible passion for the Lord. Brian is a bright child who desperately needed help in attending school. In the photo on the right, standing in front of his home, is Sylvenors, who is one of four children. His mother is the family’s sole provider. She makes one (1) dollar a day picking tea in the nearby tea estate. Yet, Sylvenors’ mother is also a committed church member at Choimim and is dedicated to singing in the church choir and helping to serve the women of the church.
Through the generous gifts of our friends, we have been able to raise enough money to send 5 children to school. They will be starting school this week with clean new uniforms and will receive two hot meals (breakfast and lunch), a tooth brush and their own school books.
We thank God for the privilege to provide Sylvenors, Brian, and the other three children with the opportunity of a quality education which their families could not afford otherwise. It is because of your care and concern that we can reach out to these children. THANK YOU!
The Community Baptist Church of …
We continue to be blessed with the news of new believers attending discipleship training and of the ongoing evangelistic efforts by the Bible school students and BTV Kenya staff. We are taking advantage of these ministry opportunities from doors opened by our visiting churches a couple of months ago. Long after our friends traveled home the work continues as the ministry staff, the students and church reach out to continue discipling those whose eyes have been opened and who have heard the call.
On October 6th Randa and I will be traveling back to to help facilitate our friends who are traveling over from three other churches. We will also help to finalize the accreditation of the orphan house which is now complete.
Our prayer concerns:
Please keep us in your prayers as we work with the local governments.
Please continue to pray for the mission teams traveling over in October. We greatly desire and want to share the love of Christ, and God willing, we will see the planting of 3 new congregations.
Please continue to praise God for his mercies in helping to establish our first school, Noel Academy. The second building is under construction and God willing it will be complete and ready for the new school year, January ’08.
Thank you again for your dedication to the work in , to the poor, and the ministry efforts of BTV.
May God continue to bless you richly,
Damon, Randa and the BTV Kenya team
